Staphylea trifolia - American Bladdernut. Walker County, Ga 04/19/2008. The seed capsule is an enlarged green papery-shelled 'bladder', giving it the 'bladdernut' common name.

Bladdernut has clusters of greenish-white bell-like blossoms hanging below their three-part leaves. The orangish-yellow stamens are distinctive.

The Bladdernut name comes from seedpod which appears to be inflated like a bladder. The trifolia species epithet is from the 3-part leaves.
