Syringa (Lewis' Mock Orange) is one of 37 species in the Philadelphus - Mock Orange - genus in the U.S. While it is not a true Syringa (the genus name for lilacs,) that name is the one most commonly used name for the plant in Idaho, where it is the state flower. It is a bushy deciduous shrub that can grow more 10 feet high, and is covered with blossoms in spring.
