Oxalis violacea - Violet Wood Sorrel. Oxalis is a large genus of around 700 species worldwide. Identification can be difficult, and classification is changing and confusing. There are around 36 North American species.
Oxalis violacea is a low-growing plant of forests and moist prairies, and is found in much of the United States from New York south, and west to the Rocky Mountains.
