Mikania scandens - Climbing Hempweed, Climbing Boneset. There are only two Mikania (Hempvine) species found in the United States outside of Puerto Rico. Mikania cordifolia, Florida Keys Hempvine, is found in the very deep south, and the species presented here, Mikania scandens. Mikania scandens is found in swampy woods, damp ditches, pond margins, and wet creeksides throughout most of the eastern United States from Texas to Maine, and has also been introduced into Ontario, Canada.
