Maianthemum stellatum - Starry False Solomon's Seal, Starry False Lily of the Valley, Starflower False Solomon's Seal Star-flowered Solomon's Plume. Maianthemum stellatum is officially listed as Endangered or otherwise protected in Arizona, Kentucky, Maryland, and Tennessee. It is found throughout the United States except in the Southeast and in Hawaii, being based in Georgia I had never seen it before a spring visit to Idaho. The most widespread of the five U.S. Maianthemum species (there are 30 worldwide) is M. racemosum, which is found in every state except Hawaii. Some authorities place this plant (along with 3 other Maianthemum) in the Smilacina genus.

The white tepals of Starry False Solomon’s Seal are widespread - star-shaped. They also have 6 stamens. They hang from the raceme on a pedicel that may be around ½ inch long.

Starry False Solomon’s Seal has narrower leaves than those of Feathery False Solomon’s Seal, and the blossom cluster is much looser and each blossom is larger. Both have alternate leaves.
