Leavenworthia stylosa - Long-styled Gladecress, Nashville Mustard, Cedar Gladecress. All 8 species in the Leavenworthia (Gladecress) genus are endemic to eastern North America, from as far north as southern Indiana and Ohio south to Georgia and west to eastern Texas. They are winter annuals - the seeds germinate in the fall, and spend the winter as a rosette of leaves, starting to bloom in late winter or early spring.

Leavenworthia stylosa is found only in limestone glades and nearby sites of 5 Tennessee counties - Bedford, Davidson, Rutherford, Smith, and Wilson.

The fragrant flowers of Long-styled Gladecress are showy, with white, yellow, or lavender petals. The claws of the four petals are yellow to orange. The petals are notched at their apex. While the style of this species are longer than others in the genus, it is not necessarily longer than the stamens.

Long-styled Gladecress can be quite showy, especially when several flowers (here in their white form) are open at the same time.

One to several naked scapes with a solitary flowers arise from a basal rosette of leaves. The petals may be white, lavender, or yellow. The flowering scapes can be around 4 inches tall.

The leaves are basal, and lobed with up to 5 lobes on each side of the leaf, with a much larger terminal lobe. The leaf can be up to about 4 inches long.
