Fritillaria pudica - Yellowbells, Yellow Fritillary, Yellow Missionbells, Gold Bell. This is one of the 3 Fritillaria species found in Idaho out of the 23 total Fritillaria species found in the United States. All of thesea are found only in the western half of the US and Canada. It is a small plant, growing to usually less than a foot tall.

Fritillaria pudica blossoms are nodding, bell-shaped, and yellow. The tepals usually turn orangish with age, and sometimes, as in this example, will have a red-orange coloring at the base of the tepals.

Fritillaria pudica usually has only a single blossom per plant, although it will occasionally have two and may rarely have a 3rd.
