Claytonia virginica - Virginia Spring Beauty, Narrow-leaved Spring Beauty. Early spring wildflower that can be 4 to 12 inches tall. Very similar to Carolina Spring Beauty - C. caroliniana - with the primary differentiator being the leaf shape.

It is protected in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Rhode Island as an endangered or historical species, according to the USDA Plants Database.

Virginia Spring Beauty will have several to many white to pale pink blossoms on pedicels in a raceme. The five petals have pink veining. Note the narrow, grass-like leaves.
