The "flowers" are not showy. What appears to be an individual flower of plants in the genus Euphorbia is technically a "cyathium" - a compound structure that contains a female flower and several male flowers.

While individual flowers don't usually stand out, the paler, almost yellow-green foliage of a colony of Euphorbia mercurialana can stand out comparing with the darker greens surrounding it in the forest.
