I have been unable find a description or photo of the stem leaves on the Internet for Coreopsis lanceolata that exactly matches this photograph. Most of the leaves are basal, but these lobed leaves were on these plants at the junction of the blossom scapes. The lobes are 2 to 3 inches long.

Most of the leaves on Lanceleaf Coreopsis are at or near the base. Sometimes the leaves and lower plant stalk are hairy.
